Willard Wellness and Nutrition Class Information
You may register for many of the Willard wellness classes offered free through Willard University. Please see the Willard U link below or the Wellness Activity Calendar for specific dates. Register for current classes being offered here:
*People are encouraged to sign up for the whole session, but are welcome to attend whatever classes they can make it to. Don’t let missing a couple prevent you from signing up!*
Current Classes being offered for 2nd Semester:
HIIT Class – Willard Intermediate-Cafeteria, Monday, Wednesday, Friday after school (Nov. 30-Feb. 3). See wellness calendar for specific dates/times. HIIT is a training technique in which you alternate short, very high intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time. It’s a great way to bump up your cardio and strength workouts to add intensity and variety to your workouts.
Just Dance – Willard Middle School – Training Room, Wednesdays, 3:00-4:00 pm (Jan. 11-Mar. 8). This class is for anyone who wants a fun workout. We will be dancing to burn calories and fat. All types of dance will be included from Zumba to line dancing, to popular group dances. Each week will feature a new dance workout including a warm up, cool down, and abs at the end.
Lunchtime! – Willard Intermediate – Teachers’ Lounge; Dates: Jan. 27, Feb 2, 7,15, 23, 28 from 3:40-4:40 pm. Each class will feature yummy recipes to try & ideas to get you out of the lunch rut. Lunchtime! will make you look forward to the new favorite part of your day. Come for all classes or just stop in for one or two. Whatever your schedule allows!
Current Classes being offered for 1st Semester:
Aerobics – Willard Middle School-Choir Room, Monday & Wednesday, 3:15-4:15 pm (Aug. 22-Nov. 16)
Interval Running – Willard East, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 4-5 pm (Aug. 31-Oct. 28)
21 Day Fix – Willard North, Usually meets on Tues. & Wed. 4:00-4:30 pm (Sept. 27- Dec. 7). A 30 minute work out to ‘fix’ target areas such as total body, abs, arms, and legs. A workout and eating tips will be offered twice weekly. We will have an accountability chart and a celebration to end the session.
Boot Camp – Willard Central-Music Room, Thursdays, 4-5 pm (Nov. 10-Dec. 15). Boot Camp style workouts that focus on strength conditioning and cardio. Each workout is designed to fit all fitness levels. Classes are set up for you to workout at your own pace and skills. All equipment will be provided. Please wear athletic wear and good tennis shoes. On nice days we may be outside, but we will always meet in the music room first.
**All wellness classes are offered free to Willard staff as a benefit of our wellness program. Classes are not able to be used for district growth hours (DGH) or Instructional Excellence (IE).**
